Ok so nobody that reads this probably actually cares about this story but it gave me a reason to use my icon - O-S-U!!!
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2537332
The NCAA needs to find a way to keep boosters out of the pockets of these kids - it is simply getting out of hand. But seriously how stupid does one have to be to even get involved in this stuff - the kid comes from money and didn't need it. Oh well to each there own I guess.

Well it has definately been a bit since I last made a post - I figured the endless rants about work would have gotten old but have been informed that people actually were reading my rants and are disappointed in the lack of info coming from me recently. So here goes (at least today's post shouldn't be too bad as it is Friday - yay!).
Work has in fact gotten worse as the time has gone by - my department, which was staffed by 124 people at this time last year, is down to a grand total of 7 employees and 1 supervisor. Yay for having a job but we are being seriously overworked (yes I'm on here currently but we have no supervisor this morning and are all pretty much slacking a bit) and under compensated. It has gotten bad enough that I even look forward to weekends (like a couple recently) were I even know I'm going to have to work my arse off on Saturday just because well it isn't at the office.
Getting off the work tangent - the rest of my life has been going rather well. Amanda and I finally got our parents together to meet and all seems to have gone quite well - not that I had doubts but was rather nervous leading up to it. In a little over a month Amanda and I will spend a rather fun weekend started off with going to see Rent at Starlight and followed up with a day on the Plaza and a night at an upscale hotel - thanks to the free night I bid on at the school auction some time ago. So all in all things have been going well. Oh and Amanda set me up with a myspace page - that I've been informed must be kept up to date other wise she will take liberty with its contents - scary, scary thought.
And the strange news of the day - so my fish tank decided to be a pain this morning as the overflow box got clogged which led to the fish tank itself starting to overflow - all is well now and I'm just glad I was home when it decided to act up because that would have been quite the mess to come home to on Sunday.
Anyway, I should probably at least pretend to be doing real work rather than typing on here so back to the grind of the day - yay for Friday!

Well at least my morning was some what productive because I actually had work to do. I stretched it out as far as possible yet still only managed to make it last until lunch. Apparently our sales teams have a new project rolling out on Monday that should hopefully help stabilize our work stream.
I must admit though that I have been in a weird mood all day for some reason. I've been very easily amused today which isn't too far from the ordinary but it normally doesn't happen at work - oh well at least it has helped the day go by at a fairly easy pace. What to do to waste another hour - oh the choices!

<begin rant> I really don't understand my job sometimes - seriously I know I usually complain about an over abundance of work and for the most part this year that has been the case. However, since last Thursday we have had literally nothing to do and I mean NOTHING! I can't stand not having work to do after all there is only so much one can do on the net when half of everything is blocked. Oh well, nothing I can do about it since lots of us have been asking for stuff to do and just get nothing out of it - hopefully the rest of this week isn't as bad as today. <end rant>
Unfortunately, I know I'm not the only one having a bad start to the week - poor deusch can't ever seem to catch a break anymore. Her boss drives me insane and I don't even have to directly deal with him - ugh - I care sweetie <hugs>!
Anyway my break is up so I guess it's off to pretending to be busy for 2 more hours - oh joy!

So I'm am old today - or so Amanda has been kind enough to point out several times so far this morning. My first act as a 25 year old did get a rather impressive reaction from the peanut gallery though as I did my imitation of a figure skater while talking on the phone to my car insurance company. I'm a dork, so sue me! I'm looking forward to my dinner this evening as it happens to be ALL YOU CAN EAT SHRIMP! Anyway it's off to jump in the shower and get a start to the day.

Well I have actually had two fairly easy days at work so far this week - we are actually caught up on our "special project" and that has helped a ton. However, the bosses held a closed door meeting this afternoon with several of us that are working a fairly big group of orders that we are processing (or should I say were). We literally got chewed out for damn near a hour - only to find out what was going wrong had nothing to do with what WE were doing. Basically the orders were suppose to be put on hold until next week - we had actually started working them in our shop TWO weeks ago. A couple the orders completed today and the owner of the business basically went balistic because this wasn't suppose to happen - so basically after getting chewed out our boss comes to find out sales never actually requested the hold with our shop. Seriously don't people ever research problems before pointing fingers - this one incident has totally ruined my mood and made me a raving complainer this evening. I mean they came back to us with an appology but serious after the fact does no good when it should have never happened. I'm actually watching the Duke/UNC game not because I like either team but so I can sit here and complain about Dick Vitale because I despise his comentary that much and that's the mood I'm in. Well I guess I'm going to head to bed here shortly as I believe I've complained enough this evening and just don't feel like dealing with anything else.

As of this morning, I am no longer having to process and provision the DSL orders that work there way through my department. I now get to spend all my time working in our port out group processing transfers of service and disconnects. This takes a lot off my plate but puts a lot right back on it - at least I know what I'll be doing each morning when I get into work now. The jury is still out on how much I like my new job assignment but so far so good and at least it is a change to the daily grind.

Well I left work early yesterday because I could barely stay awake at my desk - for some unknown reason I couldn't sleep the night before. When I left I was actually caught up on my work and my boss let me go with out taking time off which was way cool. So I get home and am able to take a nap and get a good night sleep (thanks to last nights basketball game being a blow out and not tempting me to stay up), I come into work actually refreshed only to find out that our sales team processed 25 order yesterday afternoon and they are now sitting on my desk waiting to be worked. Nothing like have the wind taken out of your sails. Oh well at least it will give me reason to continue working overtime (yay for extra money - boo for 10 hour days). Is it Friday yet - I want to do nothing but veg but oh well 4 days of work to go then I can think about actually doing nothing for a couple of days.

Well to all of you who are lucky enough to have today off - enjoy it. As for me, here begins another week of work. I was actually looking forward to work this week but that changed within the first 10 minutes of being here. Since I was finally caught up on my work, I am getting to train somebody to be able to do my job that way they have 2 of us that can actually work on the month end load - but to go with that I also get to be trained to learn another new task. This is really getting old fast - ever since we switched over from being just the provisioning office to the special projects team I now get to do my same work load as before with the addition of 4 new things. Do I get anything for this? Money - HELL NO. Even a thank you from the bosses - NO! I like my job but sometimes it is just so frustrating around here - we are all over worked because they turned our team into a skeleton team during the layoffs last year and now they just keep piling the work on. Oh well - it pays the bills and it is for the most part an enjoyable job. Well of to doing real work and hopefully making this day go by quickly - I'm hoping most of the businesses we deal with are on vacation today (that would make my day!).

It has been such a long week here at work. Getting caught up on month end stuff has been darn near impossible, but I'm close and if I get caught up - I'm out of here at 3pm! I was so sore this morning from working out last night (it's funny because when deusch and I workout over the weekend I really didn't get sore but boy was this morning different) that I literally just stood leaned against the wall in my shower this morning for so long that I was almost late getting into work. Well I'm crossing my fingers that there aren't too many pending orders out in the queue this morning as I think I can get caught up with the orders I've currently got on my desk - anyway its off to actually doing work and hopefully jetting out of here at 3pm to get an early start on the weekend.

Ok so Mondays suck - but they can definately bring about joy when one learns that they won $50 in the office NFL pool this weekend! How to spend it - hmmm - groceries or a quick trip to Best Buy - ahh the possibilities!

Well this weekend has seemed to fly by - I could really use another day to get my energy back but unfortunately work calls tomorrow. Amanda and I literally did nothing for the most part this weekend and it was quite enjoyable - even with a little bit of laundry and paper grading. A big thanks goes out to my parentals for the table and chair set they gave me over the weekend! Well I hope everyone else had a refreshing weekend and that the week ahead doesn't bring to much stress. Night all!

Ugh, this week just seems like it will never end. I've been up late and waking up early all week - of course some by my own doing but it definately hasn't helped with my motivation at work. It is really hard to get motivated when month end sales work rolls over into my department at the first of the month though - nothing like working your butt off for 8 hours and leaving work with more to do then when your day started. Hopefully everything slows down a bit next week but that remains to be seen. I'm looking forward to a weekend of laziness and good night sleeps (hopefully)! Well I'm off to go pay bills on lunch - what a way to end a crappy week.

So, a car right in front of my apartment decided it needed to wake me up this morning at 4:30 by blairing its car alarm for a good 15 minutes. Oh well, I was to get up early this morning anyway - I just wasn't planning for that early. Well at least work shouldn't be too bad today since I'm only here until 12:30, and then it's off to a very busy afternoon (but it isn't work!). I have a follow up with my eye doctor, then I get to go fix my dad's office computer (which he has somehow managed do screw up for what seems like the thousandth time), and I am going to finish up my afternoon visiting my Grandma in the hospital - of which they still have no clue as to what is actually wrong with her; hopefully, that status changes by this afternoon.

Well after enjoying a glorious week away from work and spending it with the ones I love, I've decided to start up a journal after watching deusch enjoy spending time literally enthralling herself in her own. Well this is all new to me, so this will probably suck until this weekend when hopefully I can get some aid in navigating around the site and with some of the features available to me on here. The hope is to keep this updated with more than just random grumblings about the joy that is work, but part of me sees this turning into a journal of discontent during the work week and a journal of joy and happiness over the weekend and vacations however brief and far between they may be. The goal is to be creative with this, but I know myself and we'll just have to see how far that goes before I bore everybody with my written life.
I must say though, being back at work today for the first time in 10 days hasn't been all that bad - I actually didn't fall that far behind in work as my boss kindly did some of it himself to make sure my inbox wasn't too overwhelming with the end of the month orders still yet to hit my desk. Oh well my break is over, so it's back to actually doing work until 5 o'clock rolls around.
